How Your Air Conditioner Works in Fort Myers

Are you curious how air conditioning works? Well as complicated as it seems, it isnít that bad at all.

First and for most it all operates in a circle. Air conditioners use chemicals that convert from gas to liquid and back again. There are three major components in an air conditioner, a compressor, a condenser and an evaporator. The Freon gets compressed down into a liquid and sent to the evaporator in the air handler where there is a valve that expands the Freon into a gas causing the coil to get cold. The blower motor pulls air from in the house and blows it across the coil to cool the air then distribute it back into the house. The gas then gets sucked back to the condenser where it is compressed back into a liquid for the process to start all over again. The condenser fan on the outside unit is used to pull the outside air through the coil to remove the heat from inside your home.

So when you eliminate all the sensors and electronics that technology has brought into the picture for efficiency purposes the basic process is still the same. Heat gets transferred from in your home or office to outside by use of a chemical called Freon that easily converts from a gas to a liquid and back again.
